Allyn Hagensick

Allyn Hagensick, 70, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Allyn will be laid to rest in the Hampton Cemetery. Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Allyn and his family.

Allyn was born April 20, 1954, in Waukon, son of Cletus and Irma (Shaw) Hagensick. He grew up on a dairy farm in Monona and graduated from MFL High School, class of 1972. Allyn furthered his education at NIACC in Mason City. On May 25, 1974, Allyn was united in marriage to Laura Marie Yakel at the Hampton United Methodist Church. To this union, two children were born.

Allyn worked at United Hydraulics in Hampton before becoming a cattle and crop farmer. He then worked for NRCS in Franklin and Butler Counties. Allyn was employed at Yaggy Colby, now known as SEH in Mason City until his retirement in October 2022.

Allyn was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, where he previously led youth group with Laura. He was also a member of PFI. Allyn enjoyed playing catch with his son, Jeremy, and attending air shows with his grandson, Isaac. He was known as the “family computer geek”. Allyn also enjoyed woodworking and caring for his tomatoes in his greenhouse.

Allyn is survived by his daughter, Jessica Hagensick of Hampton; grandson, Isaac Hernandez of Hampton; brother, Steven (Valerie) Hagensick of Monona; sister, Dawn (Kurt) Stewart of Ainsworth; brother-in-law, Dave Reierson of Elgin; along with several nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura Hagensick; son, Jeremy Hagensick; and sister, Deb Reierson.
