CHARLES CITY— The game started off well but a strong fourth quarter by Charles City was enough for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys basketball team to lose to the Charles City Comets 54-46 on Feb. 15. The Bulldogs fell to 12-9 on the year.
SHEFFIELD—- The West Fork Warhawks boys basketball season continues after a 64-47 win over the Baxter Bolts in the second round of the Class 1 A region 3 tournament at home on Feb. 15. The Warhawks improved to 19-4 on the year.
HAMPTON—- Time ran out for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys basketball team as they fell short in their comeback attempt during a 62-61 loss to Algona on Feb. 9. The Bulldogs dropped to 12-7 on the year.
STORY CITY—-- The shots did not seem to fall for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls basketball team as the season came to an end following a 54-27 loss to the Roland-Story Norsemen during the Class 3A Region 4 game on Feb. 10. The Bulldogs end the season with a record of 11-11 on the year.
SHEFFIELD—- The West Fork Warhawks girls basketball team held on to advance after defeating the South Hardin Tigers 56-52 at home in the first round of the Class 2A Region 2 tournament on Feb. 10. The Warhawks improved to 13-9 on the year.
INDEPENDENCE—- The success continues for the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs boys wrestling team as the team took the Class 2A District 5 championship on Feb. 10. after taking first place out of eight teams with a score of 183.5 points.
