Tate Schmitt named third team all-state

Hampton-Dumont-CAL’s Tate Schmitt was named to the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and the Iowa Football Coaches Association announced All-State football teams.

The senior was placed onto the Class 3A third-team list as a receiver/tight end.

Schmitt had 43 receptions for 680 yards.

He scored 11 touchdowns; his longest going for 91 yards.

Schmitt averaged 68 yards per game and averaged 15.8 yards per catch.

He also converted one two-point attempt.

Schmitt is sixth in the class in touchdown receptions and was close to top ten in most of his offensive stat categories.
