Bulldogs wrestling have strong showing

Both the Hampton-Dumont-CAL  girls and boys wrestling teams had some success this past week. The girls team took fifth place out of seven teams at the girls North Central Conference Tournament with a score of 73 points. Maren Subbert went 3-0 and took first place in the 190-lbs weight class. Marlee Mass took sixth place in the 120-lbs weight class, Adriana Gomez went 0-2 in the 125-lbs weight class, Ava Blau went 0-2 in the 130-lbs weight class. Julietter Koch went 2-2 and took fourth place in the 135-lbs weight class, Lauren Hill went 1-3 and took sixth place in the 140-lbs weight class, Megan Severs went 2-1 and took second place in the 145-lbs weight class. Elsie Kuper went 2-2 and took fourth place in the 170-lbs weight class.

The boys team went 3-2 at the Osage Duals on Jan. 18. The Bulldogs lost to Lewis Central 53-15 in that matchup, Madox Storther won in the 106-lbs weight class, Taylor Mahler won in the 157-lbs weight class, and Colin Bird won in the 165-lbs weight class. The Bulldogs defeated Osage 38-37. In that matchup Madox Storther won in the 106-lbs weight class, Luke Showalter won in the 120-lbs weight class, Charlie Showalter won in the 132-lbs weight class, Brody Storother won in the 138-lbs weight class, and Taylor Mahler won in the 157-lbs weight class. Colin Bird won in the 165-lbs weight class and Maddon Evans won in the 215-lbs weight class.

The Bulldogs lost to Hinton 40-36. In that matchup, Madox Storther won in the 106-lbs weight class, Luke Showalter won in the 120-lbs weight class, William Vosburg won in the 126-lbs weight class, Charlie Showalter won in the 132-lbs weight class, Brody Storther won in the 138-lbs weight class, Taylor Mahler won in the 157-lbs weight class, and Colin Bird won in the 165-lbs weight class. The bulldogs ended the day with a win against Humboldt 37-34. In that matchup, Madox Storther won in the 106-lbs weight class, Luke Showalter won in the 120-lbs weight class, William Vosburg won in the 126-lbs weight class, and Charlie Showalter won in the 132-lbs weight class and Taylor Mahler won in the 157-lbs weight class. Colin Bird won in the 165-lbs weight class and Maddon Evans won in the 215-lbs weight class.
