Hampton Car Show Returns Aug. 23

HAMPTON – Classic cars, live music and family-friendly entertainment will come together in August as the Hampton Car Show returns to Bandshell Park on Sunday, Aug. 23.

The event will feature a variety of classic, antique and specialty vehicles, with registration scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. The public car show will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by an award presentation at 3:30 p.m. Organizers will recognize the Top 60 & Specialty awards during the ceremony.

The weekend’s activities will begin Friday, Aug. 21, with a community car cruise. Participants will meet at Faith Baptist Church, with vehicles lining up at 5:30 p.m. before departing at 6 p.m.

In addition to the vehicle displays, live entertainment is planned throughout the afternoon on Sunday. The Whitesidewalls Rock ‘n’ Roll Revue will perform from noon to 3:00 p.m., while music will also be provided by Round Mound of Sound DJ Services. Food vendors will be available during the event.

A raffle for a Snap-on tool box will also take place during the award’s ceremony. Tickets are available for $50 each, with the winning ticket to be drawn following the conclusion of the car show. 

The Hampton Car Show is sponsored by Mojo Productions with support from Franklin County Tourism. Organizers say the annual event continues to draw participants and spectators from throughout Iowa, making it one of the area’s best gatherings of classic and collector vehicles.
