The team at the Hampton Public Library has some exciting events coming up, including their latest read-the-book-then-see-the-movie challenge. For this challenge, community members are encouraged to read “Reminders of Him,” by Colleen Hover, before watching the movie at the Windsor Theatre. The theatre will be showing the movie March 27 through April 2, and those who borrow the book from the library will receive a discount coupon for their movie ticket when they return the book. The Friends of the Hampton Public Library are sponsoring the discount coupons and the theatre is sponsoring the free popcorn during the movie.

More exciting news: The library will hold their first puzzle competition for children on Thursday, March 12. Also sponsored by the Friends of the Hampton Public Library, this event is for kiddos in second through fourth grade. It will run from 1 to 3 p.m. that afternoon. The first fifteen kids who sign up will get to compete, with three in each team, and there will be plenty of snacks once the challenge wraps up. To register, visit the Hampton Public Library or call the library at 641-456-4451.

And last but not least, any child who stops by the library during spring break will be encouraged to sign up for a chance to win a gift basket — filled with spring break-themed goodies, of course. The two baskets were sponsored by the Friends of the Hampton Public Library.
