Marilyn Reysack

Marilyn Reysack, 95, of Hampton, Iowa passed away on January 18, 2026 at Franklin County View Nursing Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026 at St Peter’s United Church of Christ in Geneva. She will be laid to rest at the Meservey Cemetery following the service. A public visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2026 at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to One Vision Charitable Foundation, PO Box 622, Clear Lake, Iowa 50428. One Vision stands with and supports people with disabilities, and this organization helped to take care of one of Marilyn’s sons. Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Marilyn and her family.
She was born on May 30, 1930, in Wisner Township, Franklin County, Iowa to Lambert and Wilma Pals. Marilyn attended country school for her primary years and then graduated from Meservey Consolidated School. She went on to receive a teaching degree from Central College, Pella, Iowa. She then taught fifth graders at Conrad, Parkersburg and Clear Lake schools. In 1955, she married Irvin Benning and they farmed near Geneva, Iowa for about 24 years. This marriage was dissolved, and she later married John “Jack” Reysack in 1985 and they resided in Hampton.
Marilyn enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing/quilting, crocheting, puzzling, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the visits and phone conversations with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Geneva.
Marilyn is survived by her three daughters Cheryl (Jim) Hoff, Janean (Mark) Van Der Heyden, and Karla (Dave) Harris, a son Kendall Benning, brother Dennis (Ehande) Pals, sister-in-law Geneene Pals, brother-in-law Arden Johnston, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one on the way, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; stepdaughters Cindy (Michael) Musick and Evelyn (Roger) Goodell; stepsons David Reysack, Richard (Linda) Reysack, and Michael Reysack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, son Kevin Benning, sister JoAnn Johnston, brother Vernon Pals, sister-in-law Thelma Pals and stepson John Reysack.
