Warhawk baseball team dominates Rockford
SHEFFIELD – Zander Hansen had three extra-base hits and six runs batted in Wednesday as the West Fork High School baseball team dominated Rockford 20-5.
The Warhawks scored three runs each in the first two innings to build a 6-1 lead. Rockford came back with two each in its thrd and fourth frames before West Fork put the game away with an eight-run fourth. Brett Behr also had three hits for the Warhawks while Ashyr Wiseman had a pair of hits. Casyn Guerrero picked up the win on the mound, striking out five in four innings of work.
The Warhawks fell to Northwood-Kensett 11-4 Friday. The Vikings took a 4-0 lead in the second inning and never trailed. Blaine Schultz led West Fork's offense with a pair of hits and two stolen bases while Guerrero slugged a double. Wiseman took the loss on the mound.
The Warhawks (3-10 overall, 2-7 Top of Iowa Conference East Division) hosted Newman Catholic Monday. They played at Hampton-Dumont-Cal Tuesday, have a doubleheader at Central Springs Wednesday and host Saint Ansgar Friday.
