West Fork softball topples Osage, Nashua-Plainfield
SHEFFIELD – The West Fork softball team had a mixed week, topping Osage Monday and Nashua-Plainfield Friday while dropped a pair of games in between.
The Warhawks (7-4 overall, 3-3 Top of Iowa Conference East Division) topped Osage 2-1, fell to Riceville 4-3 and North Butler 8-3 and downed Nashua-Plainfield 9-2.
West Fork 2, Osage 1
Libby Trewin struck out nine and scattered four hits. The Warhawks had just three hits in the game, a triple by Preslee Dickman and singles from JoAnna Wallace and Breckyn Dickman. Brooke Rother had the lone West Fork run batted in.
Riceville 4, West Fork 3
The Warhawks jumped ahead 2-0 after two and one-half innings before Riceville rallied to take a 4-2 lead after six. West Fork rallied in the seventh inning but fell one run short. Autumn Stonecypher keyed the Warhawk offense with a double while Trewin, Keelee Sheriff and Breea Weaver had singles. Trewin struck out four and allowed seven hits.
North Butler 8, West Fork 3
Stenecypher slugged an RBI triple while Mallery Meier had a pair of hits for the Warhawks. P. Dickman, Wallace, B. Dickman also had hits. Trewin struck out seven.
West Fork 9,
Nashua-Plainfield 2
The Warhawks scored a pair of first-inning runs and added two more in the third before blowing the game open with a five-run fourth. P. Dickman led the offense with a pair of hits, including a triple. Trewin slugged a double and struck out eight while picking up the win.

The Warhawks host Rockford Wednesday and AGWSR Thursday before visiting Northwood-Kensett Friday.
