Bea (Beulah Mae) Trindle Wharton, 99

Bea (Beulah Mae) Trindle Wharton, 99, of Hampton, formerly of Latimer, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery. Counsell Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Beulah and her family.

 

She was born November 12, 1923, in Bristow, the daughter of William and Lora (Johnson) Trindle. After graduating from Bristow High School, Bea attended and graduated from Iowa Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls. She taught at a country school and then at Park School in Hampton.

 

On May 28, 1950, Beulah was united in marriage to Robert Lewis Wharton near Dumont. To this union, three children were born: Patricia, Marilyn and Alan. Bea was a member of Hampton Church of Christ, as well as her Neighborhood Club in rural Dows and Gideons.

 

Bea enjoyed cooking and baking; she could whip up a feast at the drop of a hat. She always kept busy on the farm. Pig and hen chores, driving the tractor, mowing the lawn; she did it all. Bea lived on the farm until age 90.

 

Beulah is survived by her children: Patricia (Russell) Green of Grayslake, Illinois, Marilyn Wharton of Hampton and Alan (Linda) Wharton of Latimer; grandchildren: Michael Green, Matthew (Angela) Wharton and Luke (SheRee) Wharton; great-grandchildren: Belle and Kali Wharton, and Jacob, Hannah, Zoey, Easton and Teagan Wharton.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Wharton, great-granddaughter Abbie Wharton, sisters Bernice Woodley and Eva Early, and Robert’s siblings.
