Laura Marie Hagensick, 68

Laura Marie Hagensick, 68, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, at Hampton United Methodist Church, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. 

Laura was born on August 25, 1954, in Hampton, to Robert and Myrna (Stock) Yakel.  She graduated from Hampton High School and then attended NIACC in Mason City.  Laura was united in marriage to Allyn L. Hagensick on May 25, 1974, at the Hampton United Methodist Church.

Laura was a homemaker.  She also worked as a secretary for a farmer, as a cook at the school, and for Sukup Manufacturing.  Laura was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, where she previously led youth group with Allyn.  Laura was formerly a 4-H member and a leader for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, cooking, and camping.  Laura also enjoyed watching birds, watching western movies and collecting anything to do with chickens.

Laura is survived by her husband, Allyn Hagensick of Hampton; daughter, Jessica Hagensick of Hampton; grandson, Isaac Hernandez of Hampton; mother, Myrna Yakel of Hampton; sister, Cindy Yakel of Clear Lake; brother, Steve Yakel of Hampton; mother-in-law Irma Hagensick of Monona; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Yakel; son, Jeremy Hagensick; father-in-law, Cletus Hagensick.
