HD/CAL flattens West Fork
The Hampton-Dumont/CAL football team decimated West Fork in the season opener in Sheffield on Friday in a 42-0 blowout.
The game stayed close after one quarter, with HD/CAL scoring a touchdown.
But, once the second quarter came about, the Bulldogs exploded with 21 points.
The Bulldogs took advantage of poor offensive execution from the Warhawks
Cal Heeran passed for 140 yards on 7/12 and two touchdowns.
Tate Schmitt had a touchdown catch and touchdown run plus 82 yards of total offense.
The Bulldogs had four touchdowns on the ground total.
Overall HD/CAL had 344 yards on offense.
Marco Guerrero recorded one interception on defense
“They executed the game plan and competed the entire game, despite not having the best weather,” coach Cole Miller said.
Miller was pleased with the team’s performance.
The Bulldogs will look to improve ball security while cleaning up the small details for the next week.
