Miller moves up to first team all-NCC

HAMPTON – A year removed from a second team all-conference honor, senior Courtney Miller earned top honors in her final season with the Bulldog softball team.

Miller switched places with teammate Avery Hanson, who earned first team honors in 2019 and was voted to the second team this season.

While batting .382, Miller finished with a double, two triples and five RBI.

Hanson hit .368 with four doubles and seven RBI. She pitched to a 1-5 record with 41 strikeouts in the NCC.

Third team honors went to freshman Kylee Whipple, an infielder who batted .333.

The Bulldogs finished seventh in the eight-team field with a 1-6 record, their only victory in the conference against winless Clarion-Goldfield/Dows.

Seven players were unanimous first team selections, including Algona’s Kameryn Etherington, Humboldt’s Ellie Jacobson, Mady Lange, Kendal Clark and Jori Hajek, Clear Lake’s Sara Faber as well as Webster City’s Kelly Stoakes.
