WAVERLY – Hampton native Nic Vetter celebrated his Wartburg College Senior Day in style, helping the Knights win, 48-7, over Loras College to nab a share of the American Rivers Conference title on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Vetter, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound fifth-year senior who moved to the right side on the offensive line from center, helped block as Wartburg had an outstanding offensive game against the Duhawks, which finished the season with a 5-5 record.

Before the contest, all seniors were honored, including Vetter as he was recognized with his parents, Dawn and Dave.

The reward for earning a share of the conference title was an at-large bid for the Division III NCAA playoffs, a road game at Hope College in Holland, Mich., this Saturday, Nov. 23 at Noon. It was one of only five at-large berths earned.

This playoff appearance is the 13th in school history for the Knights and the third straight for Vetter.
