Reader backs Sen. Ragan’s support of schools

Letter to the Editor:

To the editor:
I am an Iowa native and a 33-year public school teacher. A Shannon Latham mail flyer I received stated she met with Cerro Gordo County teachers on Monday. I am a Cerro Gordo County public educator and have tried to reach Shannon Latham via letter and phone that is listed on her Shannon Latham Iowa Senate Facebook account. I have never heard back from her. What is her plan?
Sen. Amanda Ragan has answered all my questions. Sen. Ragan has fought budget cuts to education. She has and will work to increase public school funding by getting rid of big corporate tax exemptions. She has and will work hard to reinstate full collective-bargaining rights.
Sen. Ragan supports fully-funded K-12 schools, the High School Registered Apprenticeship Program and investing in tech-training programs at NIACC. These priorities are necessary for our community businesses to have a skilled workforce and so our students can compete for good 21st century jobs.
I believe an electoral candidate should be open to hear from the people she wants to be elected to represent. Sen. Ragan consistently answers my questions, so she gets my vote. I hope you will support her too.
