Hampton veterans honored for service

Veterans fly to capitol and back in a day to tour city, monuments
 
     Pope Francis wasn’t the only guest of honor in Washington D.C. Sept. 23.
     A group of veterans met at the Waterloo airport at 5:30 a.m. They would spend the next 17 hours flying to and from D.C., touring monuments and being honored and thanked by strangers.
     Two Hampton residents, Chuck Crabb and Halvor Egede, took the trip. The day allowed them to remember and reflect on their service.
     “I felt it was an obligation to do what I could to help keep this a free country,” Crabb said.
