HAMPTON – A young H-D wrestling team, going without one of its starters while attending his older sister’s wedding, went 1-4 at the H-D home dual invite on Saturday, Jan. 6.
The Bulldogs’ start couldn’t have been more promising in the opening dual, taking a 30-0 lead against Belmond-Klemme due in part to four forfeit wins and a fall for Trey Barz, but in a stunning turn of events, the Broncos won the next seven matches (two were double forfeits) in a 37-30 win for B-K.
“We’re just young,” H-D coach Nick Bretz said. “We need more mat experience and it shows.”
