HAMPTON – A flurry of scoring in the final 2 minutes, 46 seconds of the Class 2A District 2 finale between a pair of previous one-win teams ended With Clarion-Goldfield-Dows/CAL pulling out a 28-25 victory on Friday, Oct. 20 at Hampton.

Eight lead changes, including four in that time span, had everyone’s heads on a swivel in this rivalry game.

But in the end, it was tough to game-plan for a back-up quarterback who had never played the position before.

Cowboys’ starter Jaace Weidemann went down with an injury and his brother Will, took over, leading them down the field quickly for a pair of scores in the final 1:48.
