INDIANOLA – West Fork graduate Sam Amsbaugh reached the 1,000-point mark in his basketball career in the Simpson College’s season-opener on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
Amsbaugh, a senior for the Storm, needed only five points to reach the mark, becoming just the 20th player in school history to do so.
And he knew how close he was going in.
“They talked about it a lot in pre-game articles toward the end of last year,” Amsbaugh said, “and all of the pre-season articles this year. There wasn’t a lot of pressure because I’d probably get five points sooner or later.”
The full story appears in the Nov. 22 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
