SHEFFIELD – Both Clarksville and West Fork were not full strength in the first official wrestling quadrangular at Sheffield with teams that also included Osage and Nashua-Plainfield.
The result was a 1-3 night for the Indians, their lone win coming against the home team in the finale, 42-30, as the Warhawks finished 0-3 with 10 wrestlers compared to just seven for coach Caleb Wedeking’s team.
“I thought the guys performed pretty well,” Wedeking said. “We were coming off of almost a two-week break so they had to knock a little more rust off. It took a couple of matches, but by the end of the night, the last two we really came alive and did pretty well.”
The entire story appears in the Jan. 11 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
