Head coach Trent Trask said that the team expected to win all the games they have played so far, but the way the team is winning by large margins has been a surprise and that by winning by a lot that it has been a positive for the Warhawks.
Trask said that going into the game that the team knew what Newman Catholic runs on offense and defense are both things that the team has seen before.
“Going into the game we wanted to focus on us and executing what we do best and taking what we do in practice and applying it to the game,” Trask said. “I knew we played team offense and team defense that we would have success.”
Trask said that confidence is something that he thinks the team can take away from the game. He also said the team can take away the importance of not letting up during games.
“I mean we were up almost 30 going into the fourth,” Trask said. “Then we got lazy for about four or five minutes and started missing everything and not playing great defense. We talked about it in the offseason, when we do get a lead on teams, sometimes we sit back and don’t really put teams away like we should. We like to play fast and there are times when you have to slow it down and execute.”
The Warhawks’ next game is on Dec. 15. Vs St. Ansgar at 7:45 p.m.
