Welcome back, Franklin County Fair

Editorial: Fair week is a special time of year for Iowa’s communities. Fairs celebrate the region’s attention and dedication to agriculture and everything it offers.
This week is Franklin County’s turn to shine. Each year, thousands venture to the Franklin County Fairgrounds to take in the sights, enjoy a show and see the year-round hard work of 4-H and FFA students and agricultural families in action.
To put on a fair takes tireless work from competitors, vendors, volunteers and of course, the fair organizers. For five or so days, their dedication is on display. It’s because of their work that we are able to enjoy the shows, food and everything in between, so the least we can do is visit the booths and tents to appreciate their effort.
The fair only happens once a year and offers something for everyone. With a favorable forecast and entertainment from morning to night, this is the perfect year to come and check out what the fair has to offer.
