We will never forget

Editorial: We hear the phrase “Never Forget” repeated often on the anniversary of September 11. No one will disagree with that sentiment.
In fact, it doesn’t take five minutes out in our community to show that we have not forgotten the thousands killed in the four plane crashes that day. Our streets and businesses don flags. Our civic organizations work to make sure those flags are put up and taken down in a reverent manner.
Those flags that line the streets are a reminder of those who died and those who sacrificed their lives that day to save others.
We are fortunate to live in a community that honors and remembers the lives of those lost not only in the terrorist attacks that day, but that battles that have followed and came long before.
The flags and other displays of reverence and patriotism are visible throughout the community several times a year, including on 9/11, Veterans’ Day, Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
Those that have paid the ultimate price for our freedom are never forgotten. It’s not just on these days that we remember their sacrifice, but it’s on these days that we are deeply reminded of the exact depth of their sacrifice.
We thank those that have dedicated their lives to serving the country, we honor those who have passed doing so and we will Never Forget.
