Warhawks shut out of state qualifying

EAGLE GROVE – For the first time in five years, West Fork’s cross country teams won’t be competing in the state cross country meet later this month.
With an ailing top runner among the girls and a highly-competitive boys’ field, the Warhawks were unable to cross the finish line among the requisite top-15 individuals nor gain a top-three team finish.
It comes on the heels of both teams moving on for the first time ever last year.
“It was disappointing for sure,” West Fork coach Mark Twedt said. “I knew it was an uphill battle this year, but we will always have high expectations. It is a weird feeling..."
