Warhawks open golf season

SHEFFIELD – West Fork’s girls’ and boys’ golf teams opened the season at the Warhawks’ home golf course, Ridge Stone, on Monday, April 5 under beautiful, sunny but windy conditions.

The boys team finished second in the home triangular, shooting 200 to finish behind Lake Mills’ 186. The Bulldogs had the overall medalist in Garrett Ham and runner-up, both shooting 42, but Ham won the tiebreaker.

Lake Mills made it a sweep as the Bulldog girls won their portion of the triangular. The Warhawk girls finished third with 245 behind Lake Mills (228) and Central Springs (240).

The low score for coach Mary Schulz’s team was Hailey McCoy-Munger, who shot 57. Rounding out team scoring was Kalli Trewin (59), Emma McKee (63) and Rose Rother (66).

Makenna Hanson of Lake Mills was the girls’ medalist with a 49 and the runner-up was Jadyn Hengesteg with 55.

West Fork individual boys’ results were unavailable by press time.
