SHEFFIELD – Both ends of West Fork’s rain make-up date baseball doubleheader between Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and North Butler didn’t go the Warhawks’ way.
Coach Lance Thompson’s team had a scoreless battle going with the Cardinals in the opener of the two-game set on Monday, July 2, but an error to start the fourth opened the floodgates for a five-run inning and the Warhawks were unable to recover in a 9-4 opening loss.
North Butler, also, jumped out early on West Fork to take a 3-0 lead on pitcher Trey Pfeffer in an eventual 8-2 victory.
