Warhawks gain go-ahead run stealing home

SHEFFIELD – With a tie ball game, two outs and the bases loaded, West Fork baseball coach Lance Thompson went for a gutsy move and called for a straight steal of home against AGWSR.
It worked to perfection, as the Warhawks got the go-ahead run and all the momentum against the Cougars in an eventual 8-1 victory on Thursday, June 13.
With Kellen Cameron at the plate, Mitchell Halloran was seen sprinting down the line while Luke Starr was still in his wind-up, Cameron narrowly got out of the way as Halloran slid in ahead of the tag of Brody Roder.
“That was just something I told the runner to pay attention to at third base and the opportunity for us to try it there,” Thompson said...
