Warhawks fall in overtime

SHEFFIELD – Digging a halftime deficit only to claw its way back, the West Fork boys’ basketball team battled only to drop its Top of Iowa East opener against a sharp-shooting Rockford team, 54-51, in overtime.
The Warhawks trailed 27-11 at half and trailed by as much as 31-13 less than two minutes into the second half before making a furious rally.
“It was just a tale of two halves,” West Fork coach Frank Schnoes said. “It was the first conference game, you figure the kids would be excited. We knew we would be playing one of the best teams in the conference to start out..."
