DIKE – A last-second shot by Brayden Vold slipped from his hands as Dike-New Hartford’s boys’ basketball team held on for a 51-49 victory against West Fork on Thursday, Jan. 17.
The Warhawks led 39-33 entering the fourth quarter only to see the Wolverines rally by them in the final eight minutes and the game-tying shot went awry.
“We got outscored 11-2, had a bad stretch there to let them get back in the game,” West Fork coach Frank Schnoes said. “We had a chance a couple of times, (Zach) Martinek slipped on one of the cuts and right at the end, (Vold) didn’t quite collect the ball and score it before the end of the game.”
