The West Fork senior outfielder played inspired in what turned out to be the final game of the season for his team and for his career in a 4-3 Class 1A District 4 semifinal loss to St. Ansgar and he couldn’t help but get choked up after.
“I knew it could be my last,” Fjone said, trying hard to hold back tears. “I don’t know, I wish I would have played like that all season. It is what it is. We all tried our hardest, you know? Coach even tried his hardest. We all had errors, it’s not anyone’s fault.”
