#9 (1A) Warhawk Girls Basketball picked up 2 wins against the Warriors of Rockford Friday evening 74-15 and the Saints of St. Ansgar Saturday afternoon in a tight one 49-46. Leading scorers against Rockford were Emma Martinek with 17 and Ellie Weaver with 17 and leading rebounders were Emma Martinek with 10 and Keelee Sheriff with 6.

Coach Huber commented, "The girls did a great job of coming out with a strong start to the game as they outscored Rockford 28-2 in the first quarter and never looked back. We were able to generate 27 steals that helped fuel our offense".

Against St. Ansgar Saturday notable performances were by Rylie Akins with 14 points and 4 3 pointers, Leah Weaver with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, and Emma Martinek with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Coach Huber commented, "St. Ansgar had a great game plan and came out and really denied our two leading scorers in Emma Martinek and Leah Weaver. We had a cold shooting first half only scoring 14 points but were able to figure out their  defense in the 3rd quarter scoring 21 pts. I am very proud of the way the girls battled through adversity".

With this win the girls improved their record to 13-0 and are next in action on Tuesday 1/17/2023 as they play Northwood on the road.
