Uthe new president of Hospice of North Iowa

Veronica Uthe, Hampton, is the newly appointed board president for the Hospice of Northern Iowa but she doesn’t feel like she should be treated differently.
“Although I’m fortunate to be in the position I’m in, it’s all the other caring staff who are the heroes,” Uthe said when asked about her new position.
Uthe went to school at William Penn, Iowa, majoring in sociology and English, and thought at the time that she would go into social work. Now Uthe is an associate teacher in Aplington, Iowa and a Behavior Health Intervention Services, (BHIS) provider for Monarch Therapy Services. BHIS providers go into homes and help parents teach their children behavioral lessons without the usual stress that can come with parenting.
