The Hampton United Methodist Church is serving up a new program to provide a home-cooked meal that many residents may rarely get due to lack of time or money.
Every Thursday the church will host a free Community Café, providing a free meal for all who wish to attend. The program is spearheaded by Pastor Corby Johnson, who hopes the weekly meal will help ease some burdens when it comes to dinner, particularly for families and the elderly.
“A lot of them are on a limited income and they don’t get to sit down and eat with people,” said Johnson.
Whether it’s a family on a limited budget or a senior citizen with nobody to dine with, everybody is invited to enjoy dinner and conversation with their community.
