The Hampton Tree Board held another planting day on Thursday, May 25, seeding the city with another wave of saplings.
Two White Oak trees were planted on behalf of Ron Paine. One at the Franklin County Law Enforcement Center, where there was once an old baseball field, and one at Waterworks Park, donated by Darin Schrader.
"We chose the white oak because of its longevity and strength," said Randy Sanders. "Twenty years from now these trees will be a benefit to a lot of people."
The entire story appears in the May 31 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
