Rainy days couldn’t dampen the spirits at TownsEnd Winery over the weekend as they celebrated their 10th annual Wine Release. Hundreds flocked to Hansell to enjoy wine, music, and more with a celebration that literally spanned across the little town.
“We’ve done an unconventional thing by having it at two locations,” said Judy Harper. “But the weather report said it was going to rain for two days and we wanted to have a place for our vendors and entertainers.”
Fearing rainy weather, the Harpers decided to move the bulk of the festivities over to a more sheltered location than their family acreage. While wine tasting and live music were still present at the vineyard, a second site was established in and around the Hansell Community Center where bands played and vendors sold their wares.
The last minute preparations took some doing, but the area community pulled through, getting everything ready for the weekend event. Everything from tables and tents to a stage for the band to play on had to be prepared on short notice.
