Third-ranked Algona roll by home Bulldogs

HAMPTON – The first words out of first-year Bulldog football coach Andy Bruemmer’s mouth when talking about Class 2A third-ranked Algona was, ‘wow!’
The long-time assistant who has coached all around the state has seen a lot of good programs and teams and he’d rank that Algona team as right there with them.
“They were better than what I thought they were on film,” Bruemmer said. “A lot better. I’ve seen teams. I’ve been a staff when we went down to (Iowa City) Regina, played them, they were impressive. Played Dike (New Hartford) five-six years ago, they were impressive. This team is impressive. I’d put them right up there with teams I’ve faced in high school football.
