Teresa Ann Kruse, 61
Teresa Ann Kruse, 61, entered into eternal life on December 2, 2021. She was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on January 27, 1960, to Darrell and Joan Clary. The Clary's moved to Iowa in 1965 where Teresa graduated from Woodward Granger High School. At the age of 17, she enrolled at Iowa State University and majored in Interior Design. Teresa was a proud member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and a Delta Upsilon little sister.
After graduation her diverse talents took her to Boulder, to head up the Great Frame Up frame shop, later to Minneapolis with Jos. A. Banks, and finally her dream job with Design Tex in Omaha. In 1993, she met Paul Kruse, of all places during RAGBRAI. They were married in Des Moines on August 26, 1995, and built a log home near Granger. Teresa and Paul were blessed with their son Harrison Paul Kruse in 1997.
Teresa was a well-known artist with talents in jewelry, knitting, woodworking, interior design, and painting. Teresa was active in the Johnston Lions Club where she was involved with vision screening in the Johnston School District. She was a member and church volunteer of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Teresa will be remembered for always helping others, her generosity, smile, and love for her family and friends; which were many.
Teresa is survived by her husband Paul, son Harrison, his fiancée Michelle, her mother Joan, father Darrell (Dorothy), brother Dave (Mila), half-sister Holly (Joel), half-brother Luke, sister-in-law Marlys Stefl (John), sister-in-law Rhonda Nordin (Bruce), and 11 nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, from 9-10:30 a.m. with a service to follow at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Genesis Youth Foundation or Ellipsis (formerly Youth Homes of Mid America) has been established.
Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery
The service will be live-streamed on Tuesday starting at 10:30 a.m. at www.ilescares.com
