School may be out for the summer but the Hampton-Dumont School District wants to make sure its students are fed even in the vacation period.
The school’s free summer meal program began last week. Throughout the summer, any child up to the age of 18 can go to Hampton-Dumont High School and receive a free breakfast and lunch during the week.
Breakfast is served Monday through Friday, from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m., until July 3. Lunch is from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. until Aug. 9 on those days as well. No lunch will be served on July 4 or July 5 for the holiday. Breakfast ends on July 3 because of the end of summer school.
H-D Superintendent Todd Lettow said that anyone is welcome to come enjoy a meal even if he or she isn’t attending summer school or doesn’t even go to the school.
