It's more than just another brick in the wall as two of Hampton's landmark buildings undergo needed repairs to their outer structure this summer.
At the Windsor Theatre, the historical building hired RW Restoration to make some needed repairs to its east facing wall.
Paid for with grants from the Community Foundation of Franklin County, the Barkema Foundation, Union Pacific Railroad, the Boutin Grant, Main Street's Façade grant, the Center 1 Foundation and the Saylor Foundation, along with donations from Hampton Rotary, Lions, and Kiwanis clubs, the $74,000 project was the first step in restoring the building to prime condition.
The first step of the project was removing the sealant that coated the building's east wall. The sealant was supposed to serve as a protective coating, keeping the elements at bay, but over time it became a detriment to the building.
