HAMPTON – One is hoping to make school history, the other is finally receiving recognition for all her hard work.
Both are state hopefuls in their respective classes and finished with medals at the Hampton-Dumont cross country meet held at Maynes Grove on Thursday, Sept. 28.
One is H-D senior Patty Teggatz, who earned her second runner-up finish of the season, finishing only behind GHV’s Abby Christians to cross the line in 21 minutes, 3.51 seconds in her last home meet.
“It was bittersweet,” Teggatz said. “I did the best that I could, I was satisfied with everything. I’m loving how my senior cross country season is going and it’s just a good feeling and I’m ready. I’m looking forward to next year.”
The other is West Fork senior Talia Rowe, seventh in 22:30.07.
The full story appears in the Oct. 4 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
