Spring is a season for growth, but not just for plants and crops.
Last Saturday, St. Peter’s United Church hosted a Morning of Reflection for Women. With a garden them for the event, each speaker, all women from area churches, encouraged those present to continue to plant and grow roots in their faith. Topics included how to stay true to roots, grow spiritually, how changes happen as people get older and how to stay rooted in faith, how to live a life of mercy and who makes up a “bouquet” of people in one’s life.
Sticking with the garden theme, tables were lined with bright, handmade flowers and table settings and prizes were raffled off after the speakers.
Chris Hackett, coordinator for the event, said the program was designed to give women a chance to get together and reflect on their lives in a friendly, faith-based setting.
“We wanted to take some time out of our busy schedule to sit and reflect and talk and have fun,” she said, “and to really delve into our relationship with God.”
