Shirley Irwin, 81, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Hampton United Methodist Church with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

Shirley Arlene Irwin was born on September 10, 1941 in Britt, Iowa to Kenneth and Viola (Edson) Holck. She graduated from Britt High School and then attended business school in Minneapolis. On November 4, 1961, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Irwin in Chicago. She retired from Principal Financial Group in Mason City after 17 years.

Shirley was a member of the Hampton Country Club, Red Hat Society and the Franklin Genera Women’s Auxiliary. Shirley was also involved with running golf tournaments at the Hampton Country Club, working at the Franklin General Hospital gift shop and as an election volunteer.

Shirley is survived by her husband Bob of Hampton, daughter Sheri Kistler of Crystal Lake, grandchildren Nicholas Kistler of Crystal Lake, Andrew Irwin of Mason City and Brooke Irwin of Mason City and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Kenny and son-in-law Steve Kistler.
