Authorities have confirmed the name of the victim from the house fire that occurred in Sheffield on Sunday, July 17.
The single story house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Delores Ann Birdsall, 74, was found deceased inside her residence after crews brought the blaze under control.
According to Sheffield Fire Chief Dan Fields, the official cause of death was smoke inhalation, but there is no word official cause of the fire at this point. He did state that the number one suspicion for the cause is a cigarette, although that has not been confirmed yet.
The fire, which caused the house extensive damage, appeared to have started in the back sunroom on the west side of the house, according to Fields.
