To Laura Hovenga, Human Resources Manager for Seabee Corporation, Seabee founder Donald Yadon was more than just a boss to her.
“He was like a second father to me,” said Hovenga, who has worked for the company since she was 15 years old.
Last week, Hovenga lost that second father as Yadon died on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Yadon, who also founded United Hydraulic Corporation, is remembered for yet knowledgeable demeanor. Hovenga said Yadon’s words always struck a chord with his employees and he meticulously made sure operations were running to a “T” each day.
“He was a man of seldom words but when he spoke, people listened,” she said. “He walked the floors on the factory every morning and he would come back to the office, sit at his desk and do his work.”
