The Franklin County Conservation Board is planning to put a well-known piece of local realty on the market following a decision at its March 9 meeting.
The board chose to move forward with the sale of a unique property that was willed to Franklin County Conservation by the late Bill Robinson III. It features a unique brick home complete with an indoor pool and guest house, but the residence needs extensive upgrades to make it liveable again.
Board members investigated restoring its eight-acre portion of the property for public use as a park or nature center. However, it would be too expensive to bring the house into compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The board hopes to sell its stake and use the revenue for other projects throughout the county.
