ACKLEY -- A torn meniscus had kept AGWSR senior Tery Rummans out in the first part of the season.
The 195-pounder for AGWSR just started wrestling again and made a repeat victory in the Cougars’ home Lowell Young Invite on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Leading by a slim 3-2 margin with short time, Rummans swiftly nabbed a takedown of Rockford’s Heath Farr and put him to his back for a five-point move and an 8-2 decision in the final.
“That’s how I wrestle: on my feet,” Rummans said. “I’ve never been good at top or bottom, so coach told me to score points, you’ve got to score points. Takedowns is where it’s at and that’s how I win most of my matches. At the end there, I wanted to take a shot. I was nervous.”
The entire story appears in the Jan. 18 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
