Franklin County Conservation will be tearing down the Robinson House this upcoming spring, following an asbestos testing. Director Ned Parker said that the conservation board had decided that it no longer wanted to keep the property as is, though it had been maintained since 2014.
The Robinson House is made up of an East and West partition of the property, containing the house on the West end and the property on the east end. In 2014, the house was gifted to county conservation, and the remaining property was gifted in 2015.
Parker said that the conservation board did not have a plan to put anything in the house’s spot immediately. In the fall of 2016, the conservation board hosted an open house for the building for interested parties, about the property’s future.
