ACKLEY – Leading 10-0 at halftime even though it lost starting quarterback Aaron Roelfs, AGWSR gave up 36 unanswered in the second half to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season.
Dodgy, evasive Riceville quarterback Jon Miller sparked the comeback, having a hand in four of the five Wildcat touchdowns in stunning AGWSR, 36-10.
Roelfs left the game offensively on the Cougars’ final scoring drive, a 27-yard field goal by foreign exchange student Luca Fiebach that gave AGWSR a 10-point lead going into the break.
During the second half, Roelfs was in for a couple of defensive plays, but eventually left the game with a distinctive limp.
