Republicans pick Larson for sheriff nomination

Hanig withdraws name from ballot
 
     Despite the result of last week’s primary election, sheriff candidates Linn Larson and Rick Rieken will face off one more time this fall.
      Larson defeated Rieken 634-559 June 7 to land the Republican Party’s nomination. However, Rieken announced he will run independently this November for another shot at the sheriff’s office.
     “As close as it was, I’m not gonna give up in the face of adversity,” Rieken said. “You just have to keep moving forward.”
