Q & A: Franklin County Fair Queen returns from state competition, discusses experience

With the 2017 Iowa State fair wrapped up as of August 20, so too has the experience of getting to participate in the state fair queen competition for a young Latimer woman.
Stephanie Thielen, 18, who recently graduated from CAL High School, was crowned the winner of the Franklin County Fair Queen contest back on July 20, and along with wearing a tiara and representing Franklin County for the next year, her new title required her to once again take the competition stage at the state level this month.
From August 8-12, Thielen mingled with 102 young women representing their respective Iowa county fairs as part of the 2017 Iowa State Fair Queen competition, where she participated in interviews in front of a panel of judges, workshops and other activities.
